  QR codes: a way to stop APOSTATES !!!

  interesting meeting today.the do had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things i have not heard before :.

  1) the new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website .

  2)the ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .so it is done now in a big scale ,organised.. 3)the qr codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about jw's (he said exactly that!

  has anyone else recieved the letter from the gb about international conventions in 2014?

  according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.

  so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).

  Yeah it's pretty dumb they gotta beg for money, but this is also nothing new. They've always done this every few years to 'bring the missionaries' home. It's a pretty good gig though. The witnesses pay for your flight, hotel (nicest one available), per diem for food, funny money, plus whatever green handshakes you get from your family and friends you see at the convention.

  i try to keep my hands clean regularly and stay away from areas and people that i know are sick.. i have never gotten a flu shot and i do know that many that do get one, get the flu anyway.. still, the flu is considered very very bad this year..

  sammieswife, i did look at the 'references' at the end of that article and they are pretty much from the same terrible sites as the original one. You should care who printed the data. That site is just full of lies and misleading information that we've already covered here.

  I also am totally shocked that you actually name dropped Dr. Oz. That's the last name you should ever mention aside from Dr. Phil.

  I just love when jgnat comes in with info from WHO and the CDC and other peer-reviewed articles, everyone else just quotes from horrible unscientific sites, Dr. Oz, or 'their own FEELINGS' It's pretty hilarious to see all these nutjobs come crawling out of the woodwork.

  mamochan: Did you actually read the conclusion of that study, to say the least? That's actually NOT the conclusion they found. Also, I would suggest reading a bit of info on 'herd immunity.' As jgnat has said, it's a pretty huge deal. It's the reason why stuff like polio was all but eradicated until nutjobs in America and other countries decided that not vaccinating their kids was a good idea. That's a whole other can of worms though.

  Guess what? Eating an onion does nothing absolutely nothing to cure the flu. Guess what? If you 'feel' the flu coming that means the virii are already doing their thing. That onion won't do a thing.

  The flu shots are not 100% effective. Modern medicine is not 100% effective. It is not guaranteed that if you get a flu shot you won't get the flu. We are told, even by the media that one must be their own health advocate. There are some wonderful doctors, yet there are also some quacks out there.

  Did you even bother reading the thread or my posts? I myself stated that it is possible to get the flu despite having the flu shot. What I have said repeatedly is that the flu shot cannot give you the flu. There's a huge difference between the two things. Yeah you should be your own health advocate but that's dangerous if it is done out of ignorance (ie a ton of people in this thread).

  I'd rather be arrogant than stupid any day of the week.

  Several people in this thread have already provided evidence to prove those claims false. Sorry if you're not able to read and understand the whole thread. I am annoyed. Annoyed at how dense a lot of people choose to be. I'm not a doctor but it's not incredibly hard to do research on this stuff. I think a lot of people would actually prefer to live back in the dark ages when there was no such thing as science and medicine.

  BTW anecdotal evidence is pretty worthless.

  Because I enjoy banging my head against a wall, here's a few examples off the top of my head:

  -The flu shot gives you the flu

  -Vitamin C cures/prevents the flu

  -Spicy foods prevent the flu

  -The government may be putting population control drugs in the flu shot, or may in the future.
